Laurie Cogger
Laurie has been a Certified Practicing Accountant for almost 30 years. He joined the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1989 and recently was recognised by the industry with inclusion as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
During this time, Laurie has established long lasting professional relationships with a broad range of clients. These include a number of successful businesses which are based in capital cities and operate on a national scale.
Being a registered Company Auditor and Liquidator since 1983 - Laurie’s main areas of expertise are business structuring, taxation and general business advisory and development.
He has also developed a special interest in Financial Planning and has been providing high level Wealth Creation, Superannuation and Estate Planning advice to clients since 1985. He is a fully qualified Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Laurie’s outstanding commitment and expertise has seen the practice grow significantly since its inception.
Outside of his role as partner at CoggerGurry, Laurie also acts as a Director for a number of highly successful companies and is also actively involved in a number of not-for-profit organizations including his current role as Chairman of the Board of a large private secondary college.
Andrew Heazlewood
Andrew has a close affinity with the Hamilton community, having grown up on a cropping and grazing property at nearby Penshurst - which he now operates in conjunction with his wife and his parents.
He attended Hamilton College before studying Commerce / Science at Melbourne University.
Whilst working within an audit role with KPMG in Melbourne - Andrew qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2003, and since returning to Hamilton he has worked primarily with rural, and small to medium commercial clients.
Andrew specialises in taxation and business advisory services; including taxation compliance and planning, cashflow budgeting, preparation of business proposals and sourcing finance, and business valuations.
Together with his wife Vicki , Andrew is raising a young family and is committed to future of this wonderful rural community.
Tony Gurry
There is simply no substitute for experience - Tony has been practicing as an accountant since graduating from university in 1972.
Apart form one year post university, he has worked all this time in Hamilton - tirelessly serving the local community as well as local businesses.
Having been raised on a family farm (and only recently sold his own farm) - Tony has always had a passion for rural people and rural accounting.
Tony specialises in looking after rural families and advising on succession planning. Recently he worked with the third generation of a local family - having previously served the first and second generation.
With a great interest in community affairs, Tony has served on, and chaired committees for the hospital and an agency for the disabled, Mulleraterong among others.
Hamish McDonald
Hamish grew up on a family farm in the Nareen district, was educated locally and in Ballarat, before completing his degree at Warrnambool.
He has had over fifteen years’ accounting experience including working overseas in Ireland and in Northern Australia – Cairns. He specializes in superannuation and heads up the superannuation division of the firm.
Hamish is married to Marie and they have young twin boys. Outside work he is a keen lawn bowler and has already made his mark in this area.
Michael Fitzpatrick
Michael is a well-known Hamilton identity. Michael was educated in Hamilton and Ballarat and has worked in accountancy practices for ten years.
Michael’s expertise is in general tax advisory and compliance. He has a special interest in systems and is leading the establishment of cg easybooks, a division which will assist clients with bookkeeping.
Michael is married to Mel and they have two young children. He is a keen sportsman and is well known for his expertise on the cricket field and playing table tennis.
Lachlan Wark
Lachlan was educated locally and in Melbourne. He has worked with this firm since graduating, some six years ago, and as a result he has developed professional relationships with many of the firm’s clients.
Lachlan’s expertise is in general tax advisory and compliance.
Outside the office Lachlan generally likes to spend time in the outdoors enjoying social sports and other interests.
